Cookies anyone…

Yesterday I may tinkered around with a new twist on some Christmas cookies, I found some peppermint twist and crème de mint chips that I added to some yummy chocolate cookies.
The end result was really good. I added in some meringue cookies for an order and it makes a festive plate.
The rest of the cookies I made for our Christmas Candlelight service tonight at church – unfortunately due to the snow it was postponed until next week – so now I have dozens and dozens of left over cookies….

The aftermath of a storm or the calm before the storm…

With GR being hit hard with a snowstorm and predictions of another one coming on Sunday everyone hit up Meijer on Saturday. I have never seen my nice, little college town Meijer this busy.I do have to say the staff was doing everything they could to make the lines go as fast as possible they had people bagging in the self check out lanes – including the store manager – kudos to his great example.

Lord Stanley's Cup on a cake

Saturday was my nephew’s 11th birthday. He asked for the Stanley Cup on his cake. Here are a couple pictures of how it turned out.

It just so happens that Chris Chelios was playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday and what a more fitting way to celebrate a birthday then to watch a Stanley Cup champion play hockey.

Holiday Happenings

Now that December has arrived it is time for Erinn’s Edibles to start accepting orders for holiday goodies. The updated order sheet is on the top left side of the blog. You can email your orders to Erinnsedibles@gmail.com (or any other email address you may have for me.) In case you need some visuals…

Heath Candy and Peanut Clusters
Coconut Delights - in dark chocolate- also available in milk chocolate.

Gift boxes which include a "Made Especially for you by Erinn's Edibles" tag inside.

Family favorite Meringue Cookies - loved by everyone, even my cousin's dog who was fed an unknown number on Thanksgiving by my young niece. Opps.

Dora Cakes

This fall I have been busy baking including not one, but two Dora cakes for one special little girls 3rd birthday. The first cake was for her party with friends, the second for the family party. She liked both of them and I think they turned out pretty good.

The 1st cake
The 2nd cake.

Hiatus

Over the past couple weeks I have been gearing up for the holiday baking season of Erinn’s Edibles. Which means I need to turn the blog back over to it’s original purpose, all about baking. Once the New Year comes I will continue with the cruise adventures – if you are still interested.
